Rihanna is set to return to Manchester as part of her big comeback tour (Rated –R) to coincide with her fourth studio album (of the same name). It is the first time Rihanna will be playing at the Manchester Evening News Arena since 2007.
Following a somewhat turbulent few years, Rihanna, of whom media coverage has been strife with reports of domestic violence suffered at the hands of her then-boyfriend: multi-award winner and R&B sensation Chris Brown. Rihanna soon split from Brown after repeated attacks leaving fans shocked at images of her badly bruised face resulting from the abuse suffered at the hands of Brown.
Rihanna has done much to shake off the pity and soft image accumulated during this period; however it was always going to be inevitable that whatever song the star released first would be related back to her relationship with Brown.
The album shows a dark, rebellious side of Rihanna and the tour promises to hold a whole lot more attitude, packed with dance routines, heavy beats and the fantastic voice that is Rihanna.
The platinum-selling superstar will perform classic tracks such as Umbrella, SOS and Shut up and Drive with new album material such as So Hard, Russian Roulette and Te Amo.
With only one confirmed date (Sunday 16th May at 7.30) and tickets ranging from a mere £39.50 to £45.00, be sure not to miss out on seeing the Barbadian phenomena return to the UK on her spectacular tour. Buy your tickets here.
