Whilst combing the internet to find events for you to take part in or simply visit this summer in Leeds and Manchester - I came across Race for Life… now I am no stranger to this event – having taken part until my running days were culled by a dodgy ankle and I took up cycling – it is a fabulous fundraiser and a great experience and day out into the bargain… it’s solemn, sad, happy and celebratory all at the same time – a whole host of emotions come to the fore as you plod around the course…
One think it is definitely is essential for everyone to support either by taking part, turning up to cheer on the participants or by sponsoring a friend or relative!
Now if you have planned to visit us in Leeds or Manchester this summer why not combine your visit with The Race for Life – it’s a great motivation to get fit and don’t worry if you can’t face the thought of running – it’s fine to walk… a friend of mine took her 3 year old round the course!
There are many events around the area but the main ones are:-
Manchester – Heaton Park – 9th and 10th July
Leeds – Temple Newsam – 25th June
You can visit their website at www.raceforlife.org to find out more and make your entry!
