Story: Fast Track Franchise Success for Roomzzz Aparthotel: New Scottish sites
Story Covered: 26th February 2013

STARTS: After announcing two new sites in Liverpool and Chester at the beginning of 2013, Roomzzz Aparthotel have stepped up their expansion plans and have revealed a further two new sites in prime locations in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The Roomzzz brand has been gathering prominence and status in the industry since 2006 with a tried and tested methodology for the successful operation of Aparthotels. Mark Walton Head of Roomzzz Aparthotel UK comments:

“’Our approach is simple – we give our customers exactly what they require when they are travelling, our rates are transparent, and our offering consistent and in line with expectations.”

Strong 2012
After a strong year of trading in 2012 which saw soaring averages of 87% occupancies across all sites and a 16% increase on 2011, Roomzzz have a solid demand from franchise partners waiting to join  them. The franchise strategy for Roomzzz is to feature in key City centre locations in major Cities in the UK, so having dominated the hotel scene in Leeds, Manchester and more recently Newcastle with a new £6M Aparthotel, the brand is pursuing more strong and desirable locations.

New sites
Recent successful franchise sign-ups include sites in Chester and Liverpool which reflect the Roomzzz desire to be present in lively, on trend and vibrant places. Roomzzz are well known for their impact on attracting visitors into Cities due to their loyalty scheme, which sees guests divert their route to their nearest Roomzzz location. Figures show that loyal Roomzzz guests will frequent their favourite location even if it means travelling up to 10 miles out of their way.

The news of two Scottish additions to the portfolio will bring Roomzzz locations to 9 in total and they aren’t stopping there: the brand is already in discussions with 2 southern locations and are actively seeking a dynamic franchise partner for a central London site.

A new £5 million hotel is set to open in Newcastle, creating around 20 jobs for the city.

Roomzzz Aparthotel are in the process of restoring Friar House in the city centre, creating 44 luxury apartments and suites.

The sites is the fifth in the Roomzzz Aparthotel portfolio, adding to sites in Manchester and Leeds.

Commenting on the announcement, Mark Walton, head of Roomzz Aparthotel UK said: “We are bringing an influx of new jobs to the City and are looking forward to Roomzzz Newcastle CITY sharing Newcastle’s famed warmth and hospitality through the Aparthotel and our choice of team to all of our guests.

“Newcastle City is a chic stay-away from home which gives suggestions and aspirations to a luxurious lifestyle that sometimes may seem beyond our day to day reach – we match luxe and Apple technology with affordability and practicality,  the combination of which promises to strengthen the marketplace  in terms of luxury stays in Newcastle.”

The restoration of the Georgian Friar House is now underway, and all planning, design, restoration and construction work has been tendered to local companies in two phases.

Mark continued: ‘The planning, design and build surrounding an historic building such as Friar House has demanded we work closely with Newcastle council as well as with sympathy for the building and area as well as extreme care and expertise. We are delighted with the progress that has been made on site so far and the team are ahead of schedule for completion’.

He now hopes that the hotel will strengthen the marketplace in terms of luxury stays in the Newcastle area.

“Newcastle City is an incredibly exciting location for the brand – we are looking forward to being immersed in the rich vibrancy that the City offers residents and tourists alike. We are proud to be a part of Newcastle’s hospitable future.”
