These three guests below stayed in Manchester Roomzzz… read what they have to say!
“Great Aparthotel”

Reviewed 3 October 2011 by Chalky 31 from Cheshire

Recommended by a friend this was a good call and a nice change from our normal hotel. Parking is very easy with the clean (not like an NCP) and well lit Q Piazza at the back. Ask for a parking voucher at the hotel, it reduced my ticket to £12.50 (3pm-8am).

We had Room 503, a suite – not in the traditional sense, but a large room anyway. Well furnished, very clean and with great facilities. The bathroom is also large, with a big rainshower.

Being an old building it is quite stuffy, and the aircon was needed. Our room was attic style and had large skylights with electric blinds. There were smaller skylights below which did open, but had no window stays to keep them open, a shame as we like fresh air in the room.

We didn’t use it, but there was a good selection of food and drink in The Pantry area at reception.

The Grab and Go breakfast was just right with juice, coffee/tea, pastries and fruit. The staff were friendly and helpful, thank you.

“Excellent option in Central Manchester”

Reviewed 4 October by Peedlewif from Orkney

This is good value apartment style accommodation with a continental breakfast thrown in. Good basic kitchen facility, huge bed, widecreen TV which is also a computer with internet access – we stayed one night but i think it would be a great option for business travellers who don’t want to eat out every night or drink alone in a bar. Very stylish, lovely reception staff, very quiet, would use again.

“Roomzzz Manchester”

Reviewed 7 October 2011 by AndyH from Bournemouth

Stayed here for two nights in early October 2011. Excellent location in city centre with a short walk to the nearest tram station. Hotel is opposite chinatown which is good for a visit or a meal. Nice greeting at reception, very friendly and helpful as first visit to Manchester. Rooms are superb with kitchenette, plenty of space, large bathroom / shower area which was excellent. As it’s in the city centre it can be noisy at night depending on what part of the hotel you’re in but you have to expect this due to the location. No on street parking but large car park right next to hotel although could be viewed as expensive but is discounted for hotel residents.

Couldn’t find too much to fault if you want a central location, good value for money and helpful staff. Free grab and go breakfast too which was good. Would definitely stay in this in another Roomzzz again.

Have stayed all over Manchester, even the Lowry and this place is definitely on par! The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, so modern and luxurious. Perfect location, 5-10 minute walk to all the shops and literally on the door step of Chinatown.

Staff were lovely and helpful with everything, from ordering taxi’s to chinese takeaways!

Bathroom absolutely stunning, huge double shower, two sinks.. And to go back to the room, 4-poster bed, soooo spacious, imac computer which spins round so you can watch tv in bed! Big wardrobe, cute little modern kitchen area, so so sooo nice!! We were on the second floor, heard some bad reviews about thin walls?! Never heard a thing, decor throughout is amazing, even the corridors and reception. three huge windows in our apartment (Grande Studio) with gorgeous black shutters on the inisde and then roller black out blinds as well. Can’t comment on the grab and go breakfast as we never got up in time for it haha! Also people moaning about the air con, the air con was brilliant and kept the room constantly very cool!! Will definitely be returning have already recommended to my family and friends… Just brilliant!

What are the apartments like?
Our Smart studios have been cleverly thought out to provide you with a thoroughly functional, yet highly stylish living space. The open-plan design includes a well-equipped compact kitchen for preparing lavish lunches or late-night snacks. And there’s a host of clever features like the super-comfy memory foam bed, the combination wardrobe/bookcase and the desk that doubles as a dining table. For comfort and practicality, it’s the smart choice.
Five top floor Smart studios enjoy the added luxury of, you guessed it, a balcony – the perfect vantage point from which to survey city life.

Step into one of our Grande studios (accessible) and you’ll immediately be struck by the light, airy feel of the open-plan interior. Everything’s been arranged to give you the extra space you need to relax in complete comfort. There are double or twin options available. Worked up an appetite in the city? The large L-shaped kitchen provides everything you need for dining in, or for late-night snacking.

Space to stretch out. Space to relax. Space to live. That’s the thinking behind the Liberty suite. Here, you’ll discover a generously-proportioned open-plan living area with a good-sized kitchen, fully-equipped of course, and a dining table for sharing pasta, papers and opinions. There’s a separate bedroom, fitted with a stylish walnut wardrobe and dressing table. And because we know how hard it’ll be to leave your incredibly comfortable bed, we’ve added a wall-mounted plasma screen in there too.
Travelling as a family group? There’s no need to compromise, either on comfort or style. The Maxima suite features a master double bedroom overlooking the grand elevations of Sovereign Street, along with all the usual refinements such as fitted walnut furniture and a wall-mounted plasma screen. There’s also a second bedroom with bunks, desk and wardrobe – an ideal, and separate, space for the younger members of your party. In between, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area, as well as acres of comfy seating where you can spread out and plan your days together.

But don’t just take our word for it! JohnG from Bournemouth left us this review on Trip Advisor:

“I started my stay in July but am still staying at Roomzzz City West. I would be happy to recommend Roomzzz to anyone. I have found them very accommodating and the staff extremely polite and friendly. It makes a refreshing change to some of the impersonal hotels that I have stayed at where I have just felt like a number. It is far more a home from home and has all the domestic appliances that most people would have at home.

I can’t praise Roomzzz enough”

Don’t just take our word for it!

Check out these lovely reviews we’ve had in the last week! All these people stayed in Manchester Roomzzz…

5 of 5 stars“Will be back for sure”

p1trick – Ireland

Stayed at Roomzzz recently for my husbands birthday and was extremely impressed.

Booked the grande studio which was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need for a weekend away. All the staff at reception were extremely helpfull especially Paris who worked the night shift .We will definitely be back.Only small negative is that the walls of our room(309) seemed a little thin as you could hear the guests in the room next door speaking to each other but it didn’t keep us awake at night. I have already recommended it to all my family.

5 of 5 stars“Ultra modern hotel at affordable prices”

Manxie 26 – Isle of Man

Our room was gorgeous, was like staying in a rented ultra modern apartment. The shower we had in our room could probably have fitted 5 people in it! We had the croissants from the grab and go breakfast which were handy to take whilst walking to the tourist sights. Only 5-10 minute walk to the shops/bars/restaurants. Would stay again!

5 of 5 stars“Spacious room!!”

As I booked the whole journey with lovely B&Bs, to be honest I really was not certain when came to a… hotel.

Well, I worried too much : )

You cannot imagine how big the room & bathroom is! Oh of course cannot forget the lovely MAC in the room, nice.

Only the breakfast is not so competitive, but no biggy, there are plenty of cafes nearby.

FREE things in Manchester….

Posted on: No Comments
Earlier in the year we published a blog about the great FREE things you can do in Manchester…. as we’re nearing the end of the school holidays we thought you might appreciate this list again! Just think…. if you won Friday Favourites you could come to Manchester and do all these things without spending a penny! OR would give you more to spend in the shops!
  1. John Rylands Library – A gothic sandstone building on Deansgate recently juxtaposed with a clever modern visitor centre. This fabulous legacy of Cottonopolis was commissioned by Cuban-born Enriqueta Rylands in memory of her philanthropist textile manufacturer husband. There’s more about Manchester’s first multi-millionaire and some fascinating changing exhibitions in the cathedral-like public reading rooms.
  1. Royal Northern College of Music – The only UK conservatoire to be a centre for excellence in teaching and learning, but you can still hear the talented students play for free! Orchestral performances take place in the late-60s concert hall, while the RNCM’s best-kept secret is their Wednesday-lunchtime recitals by soloists and smaller ensembles in the calming and charming setting of St Ann’s Church.
  2. Heaton Park – Manchester’s biggest green space, with lovely views both back over town and out to the Pennines. There’s plenty to do whatever your age: a well-equipped children’s playground; rowing boats, woodland walks and cycle paths; even a grand 18th-century mansion and farm. It’s also home to beekeepers, astronomers, trolley-bus enthusiasts and the Commonwealth Bowling Club.

  3. City Airport – Formerly known as Barton Aerodrome, this was the UK’s first purpose-built municipal airport and it’s still in action today. Sit in the beer garden and watch small planes bump excitedly along the grassy runway as they take off and land, and climb up the Art Deco control tower that dates from 1933.
  1. Whitworth Art Gallery – There’s always something worth seeing at this gallery, part of Manchester University; not least the soon-to-be developed building and its parkside location. Recent highlights have been the Subversive Spaces surrealism show, the American Scene prints exhibition and Walls Are Talking, and the varied event programme includes related talks held in the “secret” lecture theatre.

If you’ve not taken part in Friday Favourites…. you just need to ‘like’ our facebook pages for Leeds and Manchester – tell us what you like about Roomzzz, we’ll be making our winning choice tomorrow…. so get your bags packed and ready as it could be you!
