As  regular readers will know… we like to start the week with a look at what our lovely guests have been saying about us!
This week we’ve had some fab feedback on Roomzzz in Leeds… check it out…

5 of 5 starsReviewed 17 October 2011

This is the second time we have stayed at Roomzzz Leeds city and both times have been perfect. The first time we chose to stay in a Grande studio which was excellent, very spacious room with everything and more that you need for a comfortable stay. The under floor heating was excellent as was the modern feel to the room. The only complaint was that the Grande studios are situated to the rear of the building and have poor views. In comparison the second time we stayed in a Smart studio and even though it was a little smaller than the Grande you still get the same comforts as the Grande studio and you also get a great view too as most of these rooms are situated towards the front street. If I was to advise anyone on which room to stay in I would have to say the Smart studio, as it is still a large room with better views and the cost of the room is cheaper. The aparthotel is in a perfect position just far enough from the nightlife to be quiet and yet walking distance from call street with loads of busy bars and restaurants. There is car parking near which is cheap at the ncp you get a discount card from reception so it costs you £6 overnight. Both of our stays were excellent with the staff on reception being very helpful. Overall if you want a Luxurious stay in the centre of leeds Roomzzz is perfect.

Just under £60 for what looked (on the website anyway) like a great little apartment? Could that be right? YES! And actually, it was better than it looked. Very well equipped, clean, modern, spacious, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Exactly what we needed after an exhausting day. Room to spread out and chill with a takeaway we got delivered and wine from the off license two minutes walk away. OK, so this location is a bit noisy but I’d definitely stay again.

Ffffffffffriday…. Ffffffffffavourites!

Right we’re getting back to the competition and our new one will be launched next week but to get you into the mood and remind you how it works here are a selection of our favourite winners!

So how it works is that we run a poll of our lovely Facebook fans – so it could be what’s your favourite thing about staying at Roomzzz? Or Why would you like to win a stay in Roomzzz? Or sometimes we just ask you to become our friend and then you’re in with a chance to win… and what do you win? Well a stay in the fabulous Leeds City West hotel completely free of charge… on us… gratis… you pay nada… and it would be fair to say that we’ve had a lot of fun with this competition and our friends on Facey have been very generous with their lovely comments…

Princess Jennifer Wilson Dixon – We stayed at Roomzzz Leeds last month for the first time & been raving about it to all our friends, infect we gonna book a few apts for my friends hen do feb next year!! 2 options : 1 take my husband for a romantic champagne & strawberries on the balcony, chilled in our very own fridge followed by a night out in the cosmo bar next door & night cap in our own home from home. Option 2 take the girls away for a day shopping in leeds sex & the city style then have a girls night in watching tv & listening to music on the idock. With plenty of drinks in the fridge catching up on loads of gossip & facials, nails etc then ring for a takeaway to finish the night off… A proper grown up pj party!!!!! Both options would be my idea of a heavenly weekend :-)

William Kiggins told us….”Defiantly be coming back! Had a great stay with my partner, and the staff were really helpful. Even when we stumbled in at an un-godly hour they still had a smile on their faces! 10/10!”

Carol Richardson would like to “enjoy a lovely romantic time spent with my hubby …no kids allowed. x thanx very much” – we can’t argue with that one! BUT Rob Cox got in on the act with “I’d love a well deserved night away with my partner away from all the hustle and bustle of home. A nice meal and a wonderful nights sleep would be amwazing :)”

So don’t forget to keep an eye out for the launch next week and you could be

Well yesterday I talked about making use of our kitchen facilities when you stay in Roomzzz, gathering goodies in Leeds market and cooking up a feast… today… the other side of the fence, same principle but a very different offering for you to enjoy… This weekend sees the opening of Australasia Restaurant in Manchester… promising to bring “A stylish but laid back slice of modern Australian life……down-under in Manchester”. The location is swanky – underneath the Armani store on Manchester’s infamous Deansgate and to enter the guests disappear inside a glass triangle and sink into the ground. The food has already received rave reviews – Manchester Confidential – no push over – had a sneak preview they commented “At Australasia there’s delight at every turn, there are mixtures of ingredients I’ve never heard of, there are techniques being used I’ve never come across.” The decor makes it stand way above the crowd, beautiful white woodwork and sumptuous booths and just the sheer size are impressive to say the least… and it doesn’t stop there… the restaurant is fully equipped with a state of the art DJ booth so you can stay until the early hours!

So why not get into Manchester, stay with us in Roomzzz and have yourself a fabulous evening in Australasia!

Big towns, bright stars

Posted on: No Comments

Both cities we operate in are the largest England’s northern counties have to offer. And, as such, spend plenty of time in the public eye.

Boasting quality accommodation in Manchester, and the same unique combination of serviced apartments and boutique hotels in Leeds, our doors have had their fair share of celebrity names walk through them. But last week our attention was focused on the stars lining up at the National Television Awards in London.

This year saw the BBC’s Waterloo Road pick up Best Drama. It’s set in Rochdale, a few miles from Roomzzz Aparthotel – Manchester City, making us more than a little proud. And, although somewhat further away, Ant & Dec continued to represent the North on a big scale, collecting the coveted Best Entertainment Presenter award for a tenth time.

Past victors have included esteemed Yorkshire-men, such as Michael Parkinson, Manchester-born icons like John Thaw, and Ricky Tomlinson, a latter-day Lancastrian legend. And, programme wise, the historic Shires have taken home silverware thanks to Last of the Summer Wine, Coronation Street and Cold Feet to name but three.

Leeds, Manchester, and their surrounding areas all have established histories when it comes to filming. The latter has given us small screen memories in the shape of This Life, with Looking For Eric, Alfie, 24 Hour Party People and Marvel’s forthcoming Captain America amongst the recent feature films to use its streets. And, as for the former, mentioning Spooks, Five Days, The Damned United and the acclaimed Red Riding trilogy proves it rivals that neighbour over the hills.

So, next time you’re thinking of these fair towns, don’t leave it at shopping, clubs, food and sport. You could run into a host of personalities when perusing a boutique, or queuing at the bar, so why not give yourself a little more time by booking an overnight stay. Our centrally located sites offer unrivalled access to all the amenities you, and countless familiar faces want to make the most of, so you never know who the person in the Roomzzz next door could be.

Looking at Leeds in 2011

Posted on: No Comments

What a difference a year can make. It doesn’t seem two seconds ago when we were sitting in Roomzzz Aparthotel sometime last January. But while we continue to offer two of the finest hotels and serviced apartments in Leeds, the city itself is changing fast.

The perfect destination for a short break and, with a host of world class conference facilities, a business trip, Yorkshire’s biggest city is also an ideal choice for a night out. And as the New Year arrived, so too did a fresh destination on the area’s burgeoning nightlife map.

Vox has been open for a short while now. It be a few months before all the city centre faithful discover this converted warehouse gem, but discerning clubbers from across the country have already had a look. Located just out of town off the M621, it offers state of the art lighting, a soundsystem capable of bringing the brickwork down, and an events calendar that’s the envy of most venues.

Staying on a musical note, we’re delighted to hear that the Council have confirmed there will be even more reasons to book a night with us on the cards in the not-too-distant future. Work will soon begin on Leeds Arena, a new, world class, 13,500 capacity performance and events space located on Clay Pit Lane. In addition to the big name acts the ‘future theatre’, as the building is being referred to, will attract, it will also boast a unique colour-changing exterior and honeycomb design.

Moving further north, and Leeds’ bustling shopping streets are set to get a whole lot busier, as the new landmark, £300 million Trinity Quarter Shopping Centre continues to take shape. Situated in what was the City Plaza and Burton Arcade, this new 1million square foot development promises to alter the skyline over the next few months, before it revolutionises retail come 2013. 100 stores will be located therein, with restaurants, including a D&D’s, offering everything from quick snacks to haute cuisine.

With such changes on the horizon the city’s future is set as a major capital of culture, fashion and business. We’ll only see the foundations put in place, and the seeds take root over the next year. But this is a place that lives life at some pace, so there’s umpteen new items worth adding to your Leeds itinirary each and every week. As always, we’ll be keeping you updated on the best events and news worth checking out, leaving you free to concentrate on when you want to check in.
