“Way Above the Rest – Completely Excellent”

Wow… completely excellent… we like that one! It’s what a guest from Australia wrote about our city centre hotel in Manchester…

“My mum and I stayed here for a total of three nights (two at the start and one at the end of our time in the UK) and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a different room each night and all of them, though not large, were stylish, unique and full of little touches that made them far superior to the usual hotel. The old building is full of character and has been thoughtfully renovated, particularly through the use of skylights.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it’s good to know that there is someone available 24 hours a day. Although we had to change rooms after our first night, our suitcases were simply moved for us while we were out during the day, and we were upgraded to a lovely apartment with a loft level. I particularly appreciated the free wifi and the Apple computer in each room!

We found the location to be very central, and we could easily walk or take a free bus to everywhere we wanted to go. The ‘grab ‘n’ go’ tea, coffee and pastries available for an informal breakfast are a great idea – not being huge breakfast eaters we enjoyed being able to either read the paper or watch the news in the lounge, or take some back to our room while getting ready for the day.

Overall, absolutely excellent and really no negatives worth mentioning. Very highly recommended!”

We all love a good bank holiday!

We also love the internet – being curious about bank holidays and looking forward to the weekend, we did a search… wikipedia told us all about it!

“A bank holiday is a public holiday in the United Kingdom or a colloquialism for public holiday in Ireland. There is no automatic right to time off on these days, although banks close and the majority of the population is granted time off work or extra pay for working on these days, depending on their contract. The first official bank holidays were the four days named in the Bank Holidays Act 1871, but today the term is colloquially (albeit incorrectly) used for public holidays which are not officially bank holidays, for example Good Friday and Christmas Day. Many large shops open on bank holidays, when most people have a day off for shopping, heavily advertising sales and bargains.”

Above all Bank Holidays MUST be fun, in this country we are so over the weather – we expect rain when we’re not at work and we don’t let it spoil the weekend… Here at Roomzzz this goes double… we love a bit of bad weather… it means we can hunker down in our cosy rooms… any excuse not to leave! And why would we want to… perfect city centre hotel in Manchester, luxurious accommodation in the centre of Leeds and shortly a fabulous hotel in Newcastle… we’d be mad to tackle the weather!

If you want to go to the beach Newcastle might not be the first place that springs to mind…. BUT there are a number of fabulous beaches on hand…
Longsands Beach is the nearest to the city… lovely golden sand stretches along the coast line, this beach has fast become one of the country’s premier surfing spots with lifeguard cover from May to September.
From here you can walk south to King Edward’s Bay which has the ruins of Tynemouth Priory and Castle, a pleasant sandy bay with good swimming and the cliff top walk has great views!
AND… as we all know there’s nothing nicer than a day on the beach followed by a snuggly evening and a good sleep… this is where we come in! Our Newcastle city centre hotel is now available for bookings!

Stayed at Roomzzz whilst in Manchester on business.I was expecting something pretty functional and basic – it exceeded these expectations by a mile. The room was large, with a high ceiling great views. It was well fitted out, in a modern boutique-type style. Fantastically comfortable bed. Adequate cooking facilities etc to cater for a long stay. Location couldn’t have been better. No restaurant on site, so best to go elsewhere for breakfast. I would highly recommend.

Fab room, couldn’t believe how well-equipped it was. Massive comfortable bed, lovely swish kitchen/living area, free use of Mac, nice grab and go breakfast, friendly staff, and a brilliant location, all for a fab price. Stay here.

I am currently staying in one of the extremely spacious and well equpped Smart Studio apartments.

The guy on reception was very friendly and helpful on reception. The hotel is very centrally located.

The room has so much stuff in it. Wi Fi in the rooms, a swivel TV/iMac so you can watch TV anywhere or use the iMac sitting at a desk. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and all cutlery and crockery you need.

Not a problem for me but there is only a shower so be aware if you prefe a bath.

I wish this place would have been around a few years ago when I was working in Leeds for 4 weeks.

Highly Recommend this aparthotel.

A very brilliant time on a Hen Do in Leeds – the appartments were BEAUTIFUL! Everything you needed, and lovely and kind staff. 22 of us arrived there 3 hours early for check in, but they checked us in quickly anyway…the hens were thankful for that! Brilliant location..if staying as a hen do, would recommend Brooklyn Bar down the road. Free ‘help yourself’ breakfast in the morning as well…ideal for our hangover! If I had to criticise one thing, it would be the hairdryers…not very powerful. But, a beautiful appartment.Thank you for a fantastic stay…will be back next time I will be visiting Leeds! Diolch yn fawr!

We stay in Manchester regularly and usually stay in either The Best Western or Macdonalds Townhouse (down the road from here) but after reading reviews on here we opted for Roomzzz this time.
The guy (forget to take his name) on reception was attentive and very very polite and helpful. We had booked 2 rooms. One for my partner and I and one for my daughter and her friend. Both rooms were clean, well presented, modern and spacious. We had paid £218 for our room for the 2 nights as apposed to £118 for the 2 nights for our daughters room and the extra money paid was well worth it. It was a much bigger room with a bath AND a shower. TV in the bathroom. Much bigger bed. White leather sofa. However, if we had stayed in my daughters room, that wouldn’t have been a disappointment as this was real value for money but on a smaller scale.
We had both rooms on the second floor and I can honestly say that there was hardly any street noise from the main road below.
Breakfast is a lovely touch with coffee/tea/hot choc etc Fresh juice, pastries, fruit. All available to take back to your room in a little bag! Brilliant!!
We won’t be staying anywhere else now but next time we are going to go for one of the Maxima Suites that have the split level living area. Excellent value for money for luxury surroundings.
