Great views of Newcastle – #2

The Tyne Bridge is over the River Tyne in Newcastle, linking the city to Gateshead.  At the time of its construction it was the world’s longest single span bridge. The bridge was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V and has since become a defining symbol of Tyneside. It currently stands as the tenth tallest structure in the city.

Another great stay at Roomzzz….

Stephen Scott stayed in our Manchester city centre hotel… glad they had a great time!

Last time we were here we had our four children with us and they loved it. This time we wanted a night away from the kids and wanted to sample some of Manchester’s night life.

We had a lovely welcome, and had another great stay. Thanks again Roomzzz.

Stayed March 2012, travelled as a couple

Stay with us… staycation!

So what is a staycation?
Wikipedia tells us:
“A staycation (also spelled stay-cation, stacation, or staykation) is a neologism for a period in which an individual or family stays and relaxes at home, possibly taking day trips to area attractions.
Common activities of a staycation include use of the backyard pool, visits to local parks and museums, and attendance at local festivals. Some staycationers also like to follow a set of rules, such as setting a start and end date, planning ahead, and avoiding routine, with the goal of creating the feel of a traditional vacation.”
As a home from home this is why Roomzzz is absolutely perfect for your staycation in 2012… stay in our city centre hotel in Manchester and Leeds central accommodation and with our extra special offer you can’t possible lose!

Great views of Newcastle – #1

This is the Millennium Bridge… which opened to the public in 200. The bridge is designed to rotate in order to allow large boats to pass – it is a truely spectacular sight to see when it does this as it moves 40 degrees and takes just four and a half minutes to do so – earning itself the name ‘Blinking Eye Bridge’.

Things to do this weekend…

If you are wondering what to do this weekend why not visit Yorkshire? You could check into our city centre accommodation in Leeds and take a look around…
Not far away is the city of Bradford and this weekend sees the celebrations opening City Park a six-acre public space in the heart of the city which contains the largest man-made water feature in any UK city.
City Park’s 4,000sq m mirror pool features more than 100 fountains, including the tallest in any UK city at 30m (100ft), laser light projectors and mist effects. It promises to be an action-packed day which showcases the park and encompasses different parts of the six-acre site, including the mirror pool, Centenary Square, the grass-topped Pavilion building, City Hall and the BBC Big Screen.
I think that’s where I’ll be headed this Saturday! And then kicking back in Roomzzz before heading into Leeds for dinner and a dancing…. perfect…

"Wish I could of stayed forever!"

“Wish I could of stayed forever!” – what more could we say?

Me and my partner stayed in this wonderful hotel for only 1 night last weekend for a concert. It was the single best hotel I have ever stayed in; wonderful, clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful big bathroom (with a TV over our bath!), lovely, well equipped bathroom and wonderful, pleasant, helpful and friendly staff!

They upgraded us free of charge from a smart suite to a grande suite upon our arrival, which was a lovely surprise, too!

I’m utterly gobsmacked at the bad review I can see on the side of the page, especially mentioning Paris, a staff member at the hotel; we’ve never had such wonderful customer service! Paris was helpful, accommodating, looked after our luggage as our bus wasn’t until 9 on the night; he was absolutely lovely!

We will be staying again, as soon as possible!

Room Tip: Our room, 405, was a grande suite and wonderful; Paris told us it was his favourite room, I can see why.

Newcastle…. the facts…

So as you may have heard we will be opening our 5th Roomzzz in Newcastle this year! But do you know just how fabulous this new location will be…?

44 luxurious apartments with studios, one bed apartments and a penthouse suite to choose from, so make yourself at home. Each apartment has been individually designed to create a spacious, well-planned living area. In fact, you’ll find the rooms are 50% larger on average than comparable hotel rooms. All are fully-equipped for day to day living. And, you’ll always rest easy on our generous, comfortable beds. Possibly the best night’s sleep in Newcastle? We think so.
Newcastle Central Station is just half a mile away and St James Park the home of Newcastle United Football Club is under a mile away. During the day you can take a leisurely stroll to the nearby Quayside or visit the Castle Keep, one of the country’s finest example of a Norman Keep, situated only 250 yards away. Or go shopping at Eldon Square, the UK’s largest city centre shopping complex. For live performances try Theatre Royal or go to The Sage Gateshead for top class entertainment day and night. If you’re in the city for its famous nightlife you’re spoilt for choice at The Gate. The freedom of the city starts here.
The former ‘Friar House’ is a well preserved example of a late Georgian town house which still retains many of its original features. This grade II listed building embodies many of the characteristics including a balanced proportion and a symmetry of design which make this form so distinct and pleasing to the eye.
