As  regular readers will know… we like to start the week with a look at what our lovely guests have been saying about us!
This week we’ve had some fab feedback on Roomzzz in Leeds… check it out…

This is the second time we have stayed at Roomzzz Leeds city and both times have been perfect. The first time we chose to stay in a Grande studio which was excellent, very spacious room with everything and more that you need for a comfortable stay. The under floor heating was excellent as was the modern feel to the room. The only complaint was that the Grande studios are situated to the rear of the building and have poor views. In comparison the second time we stayed in a Smart studio and even though it was a little smaller than the Grande you still get the same comforts as the Grande studio and you also get a great view too as most of these rooms are situated towards the front street. If I was to advise anyone on which room to stay in I would have to say the Smart studio, as it is still a large room with better views and the cost of the room is cheaper. The aparthotel is in a perfect position just far enough from the nightlife to be quiet and yet walking distance from call street with loads of busy bars and restaurants. There is car parking near which is cheap at the ncp you get a discount card from reception so it costs you £6 overnight. Both of our stays were excellent with the staff on reception being very helpful. Overall if you want a Luxurious stay in the centre of leeds Roomzzz is perfect.

Just under £60 for what looked (on the website anyway) like a great little apartment? Could that be right? YES! And actually, it was better than it looked. Very well equipped, clean, modern, spacious, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Exactly what we needed after an exhausting day. Room to spread out and chill with a takeaway we got delivered and wine from the off license two minutes walk away. OK, so this location is a bit noisy but I’d definitely stay again.

Stayed in the hotel three times, and believe me this is the best hotel in Manchester. In fact they are the reason I signed with tripadvisor. The staffs are absolutely friendly and helpful. The location is spot on in the heart of the city centre, a walking distance to Piccadilly train station and the city centre. It is the only hotel that you get value for money, spacious stylish rooms, free WI-FI, Apple PC, large flat TV, kitchenette and complimentary breakfast, what do you need more???!!

5 of 5 starsI stayed here with my husband in Mid October 2011 when we came to Manchester to watch Peter Kay at the M.E.N. Roomzzz aparthotel is in a fantastic location next to Chinatown and has great travel links to the arena with St Peter’s Square Metrolink stop only a couple of minutes walk away.We stayed in the Maxima suite on the 5th floor and the room was gorgeous.It was very spacious and spotlessly clean.The huge bed was so comfortable and the bath was amazing,i filled it with bubbles and enjoyed pampering myself whilst getting ready to go out.
The staff could not have been more helpful if they tried,everyone we came into contact with was friendly and the service that we recieved was outstanding.We will certainly be returning in the future and are already planning our next visit.
 
There were only two minor things that i would mention,the spiral staircase in the room was VERY noisy, it creaked,squeaked and groaned as soon as you set foot on it so disturbed anyone who was still in bed if you wanted to go downstairs first in the morning or get up in the middle of the night for a glass of water.From a female point of view i really missed having a dressing table.The hairdryer in the bathroom was great but trying to put make up on in the small area around the sink wasn’t very comfortable or practical.In the end we moved the dining table up to to the full length mirror next to the staircase.All a bit of a faff really and something that could be easily rectified with the inclusion of a useable mirror close to the desk used for the iMac,that way the desk could double as a dressing table.This would solve what i found to be the biggest problem with the room.

as the title says this place is amazing. Have stayed over twice . 1st time in august 2010 for 2nights following our wedding and secöndly in february 2011 for my wifes 40th birthday. Watch out for the blue x sale in november i will be booking again. Stayed in leeds at røomzz also . Great facilities nice staff . Couldnt speak anymore highly of this company and its facilities.

FREE things to do in Manchester…

Earlier in the year we published a blog about the great FREE things you can do in Manchester…. as we’re nearing half term we thought you might appreciate this list again!
  1. John Rylands Library – A gothic sandstone building on Deansgate recently juxtaposed with a clever modern visitor centre. This fabulous legacy of Cottonopolis was commissioned by Cuban-born Enriqueta Rylands in memory of her philanthropist textile manufacturer husband. There’s more about Manchester’s first multi-millionaire and some fascinating changing exhibitions in the cathedral-like public reading rooms.
  1. Royal Northern College of Music – The only UK conservatoire to be a centre for excellence in teaching and learning, but you can still hear the talented students play for free! Orchestral performances take place in the late-60s concert hall, while the RNCM’s best-kept secret is their Wednesday-lunchtime recitals by soloists and smaller ensembles in the calming and charming setting of St Ann’s Church.
  2. Heaton Park – Manchester’s biggest green space, with lovely views both back over town and out to the Pennines. There’s plenty to do whatever your age: a well-equipped children’s playground; rowing boats, woodland walks and cycle paths; even a grand 18th-century mansion and farm. It’s also home to beekeepers, astronomers, trolley-bus enthusiasts and the Commonwealth Bowling Club. 
     
  3. City Airport – Formerly known as Barton Aerodrome, this was the UK’s first purpose-built municipal airport and it’s still in action today. Sit in the beer garden and watch small planes bump excitedly along the grassy runway as they take off and land, and climb up the Art Deco control tower that dates from 1933.
  1. Whitworth Art Gallery – There’s always something worth seeing at this gallery, part of Manchester University; not least the soon-to-be developed building and its parkside location. Recent highlights have been the Subversive Spaces surrealism show, the American Scene prints exhibition and Walls Are Talking, and the varied event programme includes related talks held in the “secret” lecture theatre.

Manchester in the reviews again!

Stayed here for two nights in early October 2011. Excellent location in city centre with a short walk to the nearest tram station. Hotel is opposite chinatown which is good for a visit or a meal. Nice greeting at reception, very friendly and helpful as first visit to Manchester. Rooms are superb with kitchenette, plenty of space, large bathroom / shower area which was excellent. As it’s in the city centre it can be noisy at night depending on what part of the hotel you’re in but you have to expect this due to the location. No on street parking but large car park right next to hotel although could be viewed as expensive but is discounted for hotel residents.

Couldn’t find too much to fault if you want a central location, good value for money and helpful staff. Free grab and go breakfast too which was good. Would definitely stay in this or another Roomzzz again.
