October in Yorkshire!

Posted on: No Comments

Oooo think October might be almost my favourite month of the year… what do you think? Leaves on the ground – jumpers out again, nice snuggly boots? What’s not to love…? OK so it gets dark earlier but only for six months!

We thought we’d take a look at what’s happening around Yorkshire in the hope that we can tempt you into one of our fabulous Leeds establishments…

1st – 2nd October – UK Pro Surf Event in Scarborough – Amazing surfing plus skateboarding, BMX & extreme sports. Also enjoy live music, DJ’s, performances, drive-in movies and more. This is an Xtreme sports extravaganza not to be missed.

Steam Gala on the Worth Valley Railway – made famous by the film the Railway Children – in Howarth – and let’s not forget the Bronte connection!

The Great Yorkshire Run takes place in Sheffield on the 9th October.

Illuminating York Festival from 26th – 29th October sees the annual digital arts and lighting festival which invites visitors and residents alike to rediscover York in a new light!

And then we have a journey to the dark side for a terrifyingly entertaining night to remember. For Five Nights only York Maze becomes your worst nightmare. Hallowscream, is an advance ticket only night time event for teenagers and adults who should know better – from the 26th – 30th October.

Whatever you decide to do – why not book into Roomzzz? You can bring the family and have a real home from home… wherever you travel to during the day you’ll look forward to coming back to Roomzzz!

Another week dawns and it’s review day again!
Dianne H from Nottingham stayed in Leeds City:-
5 of 5 starsReviewed 11 September 2011
booked a studio , got the top floor with a balcony, room was clean bright and very modern. the room had i-pod dock, tv and computer, bathroom had a fab shower and the large mirror in there was heated so it didn’t steam up, kitchen has everything you would need. Did not have the grab and go breakfast but did use the free coffee machine in the reception a lot, this place is a short taxi ride from the coach station and cost us only 4 pounds, the train station is even closer, all the bars, clubs and restaurants are 2 minutes round the corner. This is a fab place at fab prices, would recommend to anyone, just booked Roomzzz at Manchester for october, give this place a try , you will love it …
Sarah from Leeds booked family in for a visit:-

I booked this hotel for my father who came up from the midlands. We were both extremely impressed with his apartment and we both agreed that Roomzzz is a good find and offered more flexibility than hotels which he has stayed in previously.
The staff were friendly and there is a nice relaxed atmosphere, I am sure we will be back in the future.

Free night in Manchester…. What to expect?

Posted on: No Comments
Well it’s time for Friday Favourites Treasure Hunt… and this week our lucky winner gets a FREE night in our fabulous Manchester Roomzzz!
So if you get to check in what can you expect?
48 individual apartments fully fitted for the practicalities of daily life, finished with a subtle suggestion of the Orient inspired by the bustle of nearby Chinatown. As you’d expect from a luxury hotel, there’s every concession to contemporary style and comfort.
Manchester Central convention complex for conference and exhibitions and the Northern Quarter – the home of fashion outlets, art galleries and quirky boutique shops are all within walking distance, and the Trafford Centre is less than 6 miles away, its ideal for those wanting to experience the true spirit of this vivacious city. We’re easily reached from Manchester Piccadilly railway station, and with Piccadilly Gardens just a few blocks away, and the Manchester Evening News (MEN) Arena is less than a mile away, you’re never far from the heartbeat of this vibrant 21st Century metropolis.
Award wining Grade II listed building boasts high ceilings, long windows, soaring interior spaces, and kitchens equipped with Smeg appliances. This is the height of luxury, by design.
So what about the Roomzzz

Everything about our Smart studios has been carefully thought out to create the perfect balance between comfort, style and practicality. From the high-gloss white kitchen pod with integrated appliances, to the comfortable sleeping area complete with luxurious double bed and ample wardrobe space. Need to check your mail? The plasma TV doubles as a Mac Mini. Need to complete your report? The dining table doubles as a workstation. And the shower? Well actually, it’s just a shower (but quite possibly one of the best-appointed showers in Manchester).

You can never have too much of a good thing, we believe. So, we took the concept of our smart, stylish studios and expanded upon it a little to create the Grande Studio. With a slightly larger open-plan living space there’s plenty of room to stretch out. Rustle up a latte and warm croissants in the all-white kitchen and return to your luxurious bed with the papers. (Twins and doubles are available). Plan out your day with free web access via your iMac. Then, enjoy a bracing shower in the contemporary bathroom – some are fitted with baths and even their own plasma TVs. Now that’s thinking generously.
The Liberty suite takes style and comfort to a whole new level. Step into the apartment and you’ll immediately be greeted by a large open plan living space with high ceilings, generous seating, a good-sized dining table, plasma TV and iMac / Mac Mini computer. You’ll also find a fully equipped all-white kitchen pod with stainless steel appliances – perfect for preparing lazy breakfasts or lavish dinners. There’s more to discover in the shower room, tastefully finished with high quality modern fittings and dual wash basins. Altogether, Liberty gives you the freedom to enjoy your stay, just the way you want.
Everything about the Maxima suite has been designed to maximise your comfort. With a spacious open-plan living area, comfortable seating, a large dining table, a coffee table and a deep luxury rug, you’ll quickly feel at ease. Settle down in front of the plasma TV, or catch up on your mail with the iMac provided. Conjure up a simple supper using the high gloss all-white kitchen pod, or simply luxuriate in the comfort of your bed located on a mezzanine and reached by a feature spiral staircase. (Extra guests can take the practical sofa-bed down below). There’s also a sleek, modern shower room – some are available with baths, and even their own plasma TVs for maximum indulgence.
Check in to the Penthouse suite (previously Emperor Suite) and it’s a little like having your own private empire in the heart of Manchester. Laid out around a spacious open-plan living area, it provides every comfort for you and your fellow guests to relax, dine and live in total luxury.

The focus of the master bedroom is a magnificent four-poster bed and the room has its own en suite WC and handbasin, a walk-in wardrobe, a desk with an iMac and a plasma TV. Up on the mezzanine, via a spiral staircase, there’s a further double/twin bed with a separate wardrobe and dressing table. Need even more room? It’s possible to open up the suite to the room next door to create a private three-bedroom suite.

All guests are well served by the shared living space, complete with 3-seater sofa-bed, two armchairs, a coffee table and a luxury designer rug. Not to mention the fully-equipped all-white kitchen pod and dining table for getting together over brunch. The contemporary bathroom too features a separate shower and its own plasma TV, so no-one has to miss their favourite soap.

Louise P from the West Midlands stayed in Manchester and wrote this review….
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

Loved my stay at Roomzzz – only wish I hadn’t had to attend a business meal and could have stayed in my AMAZING Maxima suite all night!

The free WiFi was fabulous I used my iPhone and Facetime to phone home and show my little boy what a fabulous room I was staying in – technology at its finest!

My list for a hotel room ( having done too many business trips) was short 1. decent bed, 2. TV and 3. working shower…. Roomzzz blew that list out of the water… other hotels you need to step up your game there is a new breed coming for your business.

The bed was amazing all the usual home from home luxuries pillows, throws etc. Upstairs (yes I had an upstairs) loo very handy as I didn’t fancy tackling the spiral stairs half asleep!

Flat screen TV on both floors.

Shower big enough for 4 and a square roll top bath with TV in the wall!

Kitchenette with everything needed including dishwasher and dishwasher tablet…

We have family in Manchester and have already decided for future overnight visits to scrap our usual hotel and stay with you guys instead – I will definitely be signing up for a loyalty card.

Room Tip: don’t forget to ask for your special rate parking for the QPark underneath

Will you unlock the treasure?

But don’t just take our word for it! JohnG from Bournemouth left us this review on Trip Advisor:

“I started my stay in July but am still staying at Roomzzz City West. I would be happy to recommend Roomzzz to anyone. I have found them very accommodating and the staff extremely polite and friendly. It makes a refreshing change to some of the impersonal hotels that I have stayed at where I have just felt like a number. It is far more a home from home and has all the domestic appliances that most people would have at home.

I can’t praise Roomzzz enough”
