31st May….

Well can’t believe we’re on the last day of May… and the lovely summer still stretching ahead… 214 days left until New Year’s Eve! The Titanic was launched 100 years ago today and Big Ben first rang out on 31st May 1859…

Well onto the business… we’re delighted with the response we’ve had to our Royalty Club... we’re gaining members by the day and as a result we’ve had some fabulous reviews posted on Trip Advisor… it seems you can’t get enough of Roomzzz and we love you for it!

Blondera from Southport wrote “Had a great night at Roomzzz!! Its a really nice hotel with lots of extra special touches that make it that bit nicer than staying in a normal hotel…the MAC computer, 4 poster bed, kitchen area. The staff were all really friendly, breakfast was fine for us, its just croissants and fruit etc. My only problem would be you could here the traffic going past quite early in the morning if you want a lie in, but I guess that is the price you pay for a city centre location, it was not unbareable! A lovely place to relax and very close to the city centre/shops/bars/transport links. Highly reccommended!! **Become a member of ‘Roomzzz Royalty’ on their official website and get 10% off your stay!**”

Another guest left us this review… love it! “I stayed at Roomzzz in Manchester with a couple of friends , from the minute we arrived we were all delighted with the experience. The location is perfect for shopping and for sampling Manchester’s nightlife, restaurants, bars and clubs all on the doorstep. What I enjoyed most though is that it really is a home from home so when travelling with friends for a relaxing weekend, we could lounge around watching TV in our PJs and cook our own leisurely breakfast… no hurry or hassle! I also feel I should mention their new membership scheme which is called the Royalty Club - it is free to join and unlike others we got an instant 10% off our bill when we filled out the form for a card… money off straightaway no having to accumulate points… Brilliant touch! We will definitely be coming here again and I will be using my card to visit the apart hotels they own in Leeds!”

Race for life…

Whilst combing the internet to find events for you to take part in or simply visit this summer in Leeds and Manchester - I came across Race for Life… now I am no stranger to this even
t – having taken part until my running days were culled by a dodgy ankle and I took up cycling – it is a fabulous fundraiser and a great experience and day out into the bargain… it’s solemn, sad, happy and celebratory all at the same time – a whole host of emotions come to the fore as you plod around the course…

One think it is definitely is essential for everyone to support either by taking part, turning up to cheer on the participants or by sponsoring a friend or relative!

Now if you have planned to visit us in Leeds or Manchester this summer why not combine your visit with The Race for Life – it’s a great motivation to get fit and don’t worry if you can’t face the thought of running – it’s fine to walk… a friend of mine took her 3 year old round the course!

There are many events around the area but the main ones are:-

Manchester – Heaton Park – 9th and 10th July

Leeds – Temple Newsam – 25th June

You can visit their website at www.raceforlife.org to find out more and make your entry!

Fodder… Part II

That Bank Holiday looms larger and larger…. here at Roomzzz we can accommodate all your needs and whatever you decide to do this week, if you’re in Leeds or Manchester for a night or a few days, avoid the rain and the traffic, come and stay with us! Get in touch on 0844 499 4888 or book online by clicking here.

Well yesterday I talked about making use of our kitchen facilities when you stay in Roomzzz, gathering goodies in Leeds market and cooking up a feast… today… the other side of the fence, same principle but a very different offering for you to enjoy… This weekend sees the opening of Australasia Restaurant in Manchester… promising to bring “A stylish but laid back slice of modern Australian life……down-under in Manchester”. The location is swanky – underneath the Armani store on Manchester’s infamous Deansgate and to enter the guests disappear inside a glass triangle and sink into the ground. The food has already received rave reviews – Manchester Confidential – no push over – had a sneak preview they commented “At Australasia there’s delight at every turn, there are mixtures of ingredients I’ve never heard of, there are techniques being used I’ve never come across.” The decor makes it stand way above the crowd, beautiful white woodwork and sumptuous booths and just the sheer size are impressive to say the least… and it doesn’t stop there… the restaurant is fully equipped with a state of the art DJ booth so you can stay until the early hours!

So why not get into Manchester, stay with us in Roomzzz and have yourself a fabulous evening in Australasia!

Fodder… Part I

Now it if the image above looks familiar to you… if this is how your dining table at home is more commonly seen, then you’ll be looking for some recommendations on food and where to eat out this weekend and over the Spring Bank Holiday… why not treat yourself to a foodie break?

Now when you stay at Roomzzz you have a couple of ways you can achieve this…. you can take the ‘easy’ option and visit a local restaurant OR remember that in our apart hotels you could spend your afternoon searching out ingredients in the vicinity and then cook up a storm with your partners in crime… If you’re with us for the entire weekend – why not do both? Whether you are staying in a hotel in Leeds city centre or Manchester city centre you have a whole world of delights to discover whichever option you choose!

Now in Leeds we have the famous Kirkgate Market…. this is the market where Mr Marks and Mr Spencer had their first stall and if you’ve never been it’s worth a trip to Leeds for. There are over 800 market stalls with separate sections for meat, fish and vegetables undercover and a large outdoor area – from the mundane to the exotic shopping for food here really is an experience!

You can then carry all your finds back to Roomzzz and prepare a feast in our fully equipped kitchens

Half term happiness….

They’ve just seen their suite in Roomzzz! Well… this is the reaction we often get when our guests see their pad for the first time… the imac, the wifi, the flat screen TV… the fabulous beds! So it’s Spring Bank Holiday – any plans?

Whatever you fancy make sure that you sign up for your Roomzz Royalty Card and then why not book in for a night or two of complete relaxation in our sumptuous rooms…? And bag a discount into the bargain!

And did we mention the Golf? We have linked up with Wike Ridge Golf Course to give you a fabulous weekend package of luxury accommodation, combined with a round of golf at one of Yorkshire’s premier courses!

Wike Ridge golf course is located near the affluent North Leeds suburb of Shadwell and offers superb facilities for golfers of all standards including an 18 hole course designed by Donald Steel in 1994 with greens to USGA standards. Rebecca Lumb – ooo…..My friends wedding party on the Saturday so I would have a pampering evening in one of your lovely rooms and spend the morning getting ready at my leisure!!… :o)

Rob Cox – I’d love a well deserved night away with my partner away from all the hustle and bustle of home. A nice meal and a wonderful nights sleep would be amwazing :)

Princess Jennifer Wilson Dixon – We stayed at Roomzzz Leeds last month for the first time & been raving about it to all our friends, infect we gonna book a few apts for my friends hen do feb next year!!

2 options :

1 take my husband for a romantic champagne & strawberries on… the balcony, chilled in our very own fridge followed by a night out in the cosmo bar next door & night cap in our own home from home.

Option 2 take the girls away for a day shopping in leeds sex & the city style then have a girls night in watching tv & listening to music on the idock. With plenty of drinks in the fridge catching up on loads of gossip & facials, nails etc then ring for a takeaway to finish the night off… A proper grown up pj party!!!!!

Both options would be my idea of a heavenly weekend :-)

We love all the comments…. keep em coming! We’ll be announcing the winner of a stay in Leeds later today!

Ffffffffffriday…. Ffffffffffavourites!

Ah…. and relax… it’s nearly the weekend and that’s not the only reason why we like Fridays – no it’s the day we ask you to tell us all your favourite things about staying at Roomzzz! This week in honour of the Bank Holiday next week we are asking you to tell us what you would do if you got to stay with us on Friday 27th… We’ve been getting some fabulous comments on our Facebook page this week…

William Kiggins told us….”Defiantly be coming back! Had a great stay with my partner, and the staff were really helpful. Even when we stumbled in at an un-godly hour they still had a smile on their faces! 10/10!”

Carol Richardson would like to “enjoy a lovely romantic time spent with my hubby …no kids allowed. x thanx very much” – we can’t argue with that one! BUT Rob Cox got in on the act with “I’d love a well deserved night away with my partner away from all the hustle and bustle of home. A nice meal and a wonderful nights sleep would be amwazing :)”

We’ve been looking elsewhere on the internet too and found ourselves in Trip Advisor:

From pmymjyr in St Helens:- “We stayed 2 nights in a liberty suite. While visiting manchester to watch Ghost. Our room was amazing. So nicely styled and they had everything you might want. Full kitchen, TV, DVD and Imac!! I can’t imagine the location being any better. In fact the only thing wrong with its location is the fact that if you add the luxury of the room to the fact china town is across the road you may only be leaving the room to fetch a cheeky take away and coming back to get cozy. Style, luxury, technology, location and lots cheaper than any of its competitors. A must stay!”

We have a winner…

We just loved Mike Roberts’ comments in his blog and so we chose him as our Friday Favourites Winner for this week…

“If you’ve ever tried to book hotel rooms in Manchester you’ll know how difficult it is to get a good location and quality of accommodation, without having to re mortgaging the house. Generally your left with the enviable choice of sacrificing location, sacrificing accommodation or paying through the nose for it. That’s why when i was looking to book for a recent trip, i was quite intregiued to see Roomzzz had opened a Manchester Aparthotel. Roomzzz had crossed my path once when we were looking to stay in Leeds (where Roomzzz have 3 aparthotels,) although we didn’t end up going to leeds i was very impressed by the pictures of their rooms and the prices. So when we were booking for our stay in Manchester i was happy to see that Roomzzz had expanded west to Manchester. The prices were very competitive and the rooms looked very nice online. So we took the plunge and booked a liberty suite for 2 nights. We were not disappointed. Roomzzz Manchester is a wonder, its hard to tell on the map but i really can’t think of it being better positioned. China town is literally across the street, picadilly gardens is 2 mins walk so debenhams, primark and the arndale are right on your door step. It is a 3 mins walk to the Palace theatre, 5 mins walk to deansgate with all its pubs and restaurants. On walking into (or down to) the roomzzz lobby you can tell this is no normal hotel.

Roomzzz has the boutique thing going on in spades. Lots of lovely, stylish and comfortable sofas fill the communal area, where the complimentary continental breakfast is served, their is also a pantry where you can buy all those little essentials you may need (including pizzas.) Than into the room. The liberty suites are huge, they are positioned at each corner of the building with massive windows perfect to watch the city outside. The boutique style continues with a very stylish interior, complemented by a full kitchen, large screen tv with dvd player and apple imac!!! I’ve rarely been so impressed by a hotel room. The room was even ultra glazed (i counted at least 4 panes.) meaning we could hardly hear anything from the busy city outside.

The suite was so beautiful, so well appointed it meant we could just relax, and get on with weekend. Which as you could imagine was difficult when we really didn’t want to leave our room.

Thanks Mike… We look forward to seeing you in Leeds this weekend!
